Three types of probes are offered, each designed to gather grain samples using an alternate method of retrieval, and made to the length you need.
Brass Open Handle allows grain to enter at all levels simultaneously and empties through the handle opening. This type being the most popular because of the short amount of time needed to retrieve the sample.
Brass Compartmentalized probe allows the collection and separation of samples at different probe depths. Each level is isolated and stored in a compartment for independent testing.
Spiral Brass Open Handle allows the sequential sampling of grain. Probe gates open and close at different times while the probe handle is turned by the operator. Grain samples are collected from the bottom up at different moments. The total sample is poured through the handle opening.
All probes are 100% brass including handles. Also available with wood handles. the 72BC and the 120BC are approved by the Federal Grain Inspection Service. Special length or compartmentalized probes can be manufactured upon request.
